This past weekend we experienced our first ever Kempen Fest in Barrie, Ontario. It was pretty much perfect weather (no rain) only minor winds blowing every now and then. Gav and I had the pleasure of sharing a tent with our good friend and talented artist Vanessa De Groot. Over 200,000 people pass through the tents over this 3 day period making it the largest arts and crafts festival in Ontario... or so I heard!
We had the opportunity to talk with many fantastic people, many of whom had stories about experiences with VW Westfalias. It was really interesting to hear their experiences. One woman had a sister who lived in a bus for 9 years of her life. Which got us thinking that we might sell our house. Just kidding... sort of.
One thing we noticed was how much kids were drawn to the chairs as you will see in our gallery of photos. Not sure exactly what it is about them, perhaps the vibrant colours, perhaps they just wanted to sit down! Whatever the reason, it got us thinking, maybe we should create a smaller version. So look for the circle back mini in the near future.
Another bit of feedback we received was to make tables, with a similar top to the back of these chairs, which we thought was a natural progression. We had considered this possibility but wanted to start with a focus on the chairs. Tables will certainly be happening in the near future. We did make a small side table with wheels on the base of it which we sold to a lovely couple.
Please let us know about any chair requests you have by sending us an email through our about/ contact page on the website. We are happy to customize chairs based on your personal tastes! Also the ecommerce portion of our website will be up soon. Each chair sells for $300 unless you would like to stain it yourself in which case you may purchase the unstained chair for $225.
Thanks to all for stopping by the booth and checking us out!
